City Council is responsible for setting the policies of the city of Mississauga. It ratifies recommendations made by various committees. Methods of ratification are by-laws and resolutions. The Mayor is the head of Council. Council meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month and special meetings may be called by the Mayor or upon the request of the majority of members of Council.
