It is a very multi-cultural area of Mississauga. There are a variety of different restaurants and stores from a number of cultural backgrounds. There is a mixtures of houses, apartment and condominium buildings just off the main roads.
There is a Go Transit station located in this neighbourhood. The Milton Go Line runs through Cooksville Go station as well as Go Buses. Mississauga Transit has a few bus routes that go through Cooksville.
The Cooksville Branch Library is located in the Cooksville Colonnade. A community centre is planned for Cooksville, and will probably be built at either T.L. Kennedy Secondary School or the former town hall site.
