Potholes are a normal part of driving in the city. many of them are caused by weather conditions where a cycle of melting and freezing occurs in the winter months. Essentially the melting water finds its way into any existing hole in the roads and when the temperature goes back to freezing in a short period of time, the water expands as it turns to ice. This makes any existing holes bigger in addition to the stress from traffic.
The City Of Mississauga works to repair potholes as much as they can. However they have to wait for weather conditions to be suitable for this to occur.
